How do I provide feedback regarding my good/bad experience?
What is the minimum qualification required for you to join us as a tutor?

You need to have at least an A Level or a Diploma qualification to register as a Tutor with us.

What is our commission based on?

We take 50% of the first 4 weeks of tuition as commission. Thereafter, you will earn the full amount of tuition fees. We will collect our commission from the client directly after half of the 1st-month lessons, and you will collect your remaining fees directly from the client for the last 2 weeks upon completion of the 1-month worth of lessons.

We value your interests and have a Commission Policy. If the tuition does not last for at least 4 weeks, we will adjust the commission and transfer to you some of the commission.

Tutors found to have tried to evade the agreed-upon commission will be blacklisted and we will claim our rightful commission through the Tribunal of Small Claims. We may also report offenders to the Police.

Do I have to send in my certificates as a proof of my qualification?

There is no need to send in any hardcopy but you are encouraged to produce a photocopy of your certification on the first tuition class which is to be passed to the parent.

 When and how do I make payment ?

You need not make payment. The commission will be deducted from your first month’s tuition fees .


You will transfer this amount to us directly.

 How does the client matching work?

When we receive a tutor request from parents, we will match their request based on the subject and level of tuition and their location to our database of tutors.


We will send out  Email/Sms alerts to our tutors. Your immediate response is appreciated as you then have higher chances of securing the assignment.

  1. Firstly, please get the location right and be there on time. 

  2. In case of any emergency, you can contact us or call the parents directly whose numbers you would already have stored on your phone. 

  3. Bring along your Identification Card and a copy of your certificates for verification purposes with the parents. 

What is expected of you on the first lesson?
 What will happen if I terminate the tuition assignment within the first month?

You are strongly encouraged not to do so, as it will affect your credibility as a tutor. In the event that it does happen, you will not receive any payment for your services. We will match another tutor to the student.

You may make a bank transfer via ATM, internet banking or Cheque. Upon confirmation, payment details will be provided in the official email invoice sent to you. If you have any doubts, you can always contact us directly.

Please note that for all payments, it is your responsibility to ensure that the bank receipt is kept as proof of transaction made via cash deposit transfer. Please also ensure that you notify the agency upon transferring for verification.

How do I make the payment?

You are allowed to conduct your lessons in your own preferred way, in accordance with the student’s needs. Kovan LC does not monitor your teaching methods


However, parents reserve the right to cancel the tuition at any time. Purchase of extra study materials is allowed but it should be consulted with the student beforehand and agreed upon by the student.

How do I conduct my lessons?

Tutors are expected to be committed for the length of the period as agreed upon. If is it not specified, the minimum duration of commitment is 1-month. Tutors are not obliged under any contracts to complete stipulated number of months.


However, our agency expects tutors to uphold integrity and responsibility by adhering to the agreed length of commitment.


Tutors might be blacklisted and have their information circulated to other agencies if they do not stick to their commitment. We will review it depending on a case-by-case basis and take appropriate action.

What are the rules regarding postponement/cancellation of lessons and commitment?

Once you have given a verbal or written (SMS, WhatsApp message, email) confirmation to take up the assignment, you are expected to complete at least 4 weeks worth of lessons. If a postponement made by you that resulted in cancellation or a cancellation is made before 4 weeks of lessons are completed, we will blacklist you as an irresponsible tutor, and the commission will be set according to our Commission Policy.

Clients shall inform you (the tutor) if there is a need to postpone or cancel lessons. If the tutor is only informed less than two hours away to the start time of the lesson, the client shall be liable to pay for the lost time and transport cost of the tutor. The amount payable will amount to 50% of 1 lesson worth and made to the tutor within 7 days.

There could be several reasons why you are not getting a response or successfully getting an assignment.

1) Applying for assignments that are not available

Due to overwhelming replies from our tutors, our typical window is 2-48 hours before we match the assignment successfully. Try to apply quickly for the latest assignments, especially those that are SMSes directly to you.

2) Incomplete applications

Usually, we ask for your qualifications, relevant tutoring experience, rates, and available timings. Tutors who reply in full are MUCH more likely to be successful. If you do not apply adequately, it is very likely that you will not receive a reply. When you are applying, please be sure to include the information that is required.

3) Applying for unsuitable assignments  


Our assignments clearly indicate

certain requirements e.g Ex/Current MOE Tutors or female only. unless you fit the requirements, you will not receive any reply.

4) Our coordinators are attending to other assignments

Yes, we really have to apologize for this. It may very well be possible that we were busy that day with many tuition assignments that we forgot to reply to you.


However, you can reach to us via Sms/Whatsapp we receive so be sure that your application has been well received. You WILL get a reply from us if your application was successful.
