OUR COMMISSION POLICY
How do we get our commission?
Our services (e.g arrangement of tutors) are fully freed from charge for clients (parents/students).
The agency’s commission is charged with the tutor and subtracted from their tuition fees.
However, tutees should facilitate the method for us to assert the commission on the tutor (by paying on to the agency on their tutors’ behalf).
Any changes to frequency or duration of lessons?
If the duration or frequency of lessons isn't uniform, we'll determine the commission based on the frequency of lessons
Payment in advance needed?
Clients are not abided to make advanced payments. All payments are made only after completing the lesson.
Concerns about an additional student?
If the client needs to try out one subject 1st then add additional subjects later, it'll be treated a similar to ‘changes to frequency’ and therefore the commission shall apply to the additional subjects/lessons/students, subject to a limit of half dozen months from the first tuition arrangement.
Tutors and tutees are expected to tell their coordinators of any additional lessons directly.
How much to pay if tuition is cancelled?
For Clients who Would like to Cancel:
Clients are liberated to terminate the tutoring anytime if they realize the tutor unsuitable. clients shall be needed to pay for all the teachings conducted. If the tuition has been conducted for fewer than 4-weeks of lessons, clients shall pay half the fees on to the agency and half the fees to the tutor.
It should be noted that clients should inform the agency for a minimum of 24 hours before the subsequent lesson starts. If the client informs the agency last minute and made the tutor take a visit all the way down to the house, the client shall be liable to pay 50% of lesson fee as compensation to the tutor.
For Tutors Who would like to Cancel:
If tuition has been conducted for less than 4-weeks of lessons, then tutors are not allowed to back out of the tuition unless there is a valid excuse (e.g Illness). If the tutor absents without a valid reason, he/she is not entitled to any tuition fees. Hence, the client is only required to pay 50% of the fees for the conducted lessons to the agency directly.
If the tutoring has been conducted for over 4-weeks of lessons, then tutors are liberal to terminate the tutoring (although they're not encouraged to try and do so). clients shall be needed to pay for all lessons conducted and to pay the tutor directly (after paying the commission to the agency).
All payments must be made directly by the Client to the agency
It is crucial to pay the agency’s share through the right channel to avoid any losses.
If the client is meant to pay the agency however instead pays through the tutor, the agency shall not be accountable for any losses.
The client shall remain accountable for paying the agency fee to the agency.
There may additionally be taxes (GST) for payments made to the agency
Hence, clients should follow the right channels to pay for the agency.
How much is the agency fee?
In general, 50% of 1st-month fees are collected as agent commission
i.e Commission covers the tutoring fees of the first 2-weeks of active lessons (not the calendar month).
How is the agency being paid?
The commission shall be paid by the parent or student on to the agency
The commission is to be paid once the completion of X number of lessons
(stated clearly within the confirmation invoice – typically, this will equate to the agency commission).
How to pay the tutor?
After the agency commission is paid, the client could then organize payment directly with the tutor.
In ensuant months, tutors can receive the total tuition fees
Short-Term Jobs or Crash Courses
For crash courses, we tend to usually collect 25% of the overall tuition fee.
Exact percentages might differ and that we can let tutors know beforehand.
How are short-term assignments/crash courses defined
Short-term assignments are outlined by students who solely need a certain number of lessons (usually not exceeding beyond eight weeks of lessons).
Code of Conduct for Tutors
Registered tutors ought to meet expectations. Tutors are expected to follow these 3 rules when facing our tuition coordinators.
No.1: You are accountable
Once you accept an assignment, you must make sure you continue to the agreed schedule, frequency/week, and length of commitment. Failure to do so is an irresponsible act and causes clients and puts our reputation at stake, which we want to AVOID AT ALL COST.
No.2: Keep Us Updated
Any change in the frequency of lessons during the first 4-weeks has to be made known immediately. We will not be liable for any uninformed changes. We may also claim the appropriate charges if we were not informed of an increase in the frequency of lessons.
No.3: Be True
Tutors who attempt to evade the commission or any unreasonable and unethical behaviour can lead to being blacklisted by our tuition agency, as well as legal proceedings will be done if necessary. Tutors are expected to conduct themselves professionally during the lessons.
